I’m sure many of us longing for that fairytale love are acquainted with the incredible Jenna Raine. The singer-songwriter from Texas, USA has angelic vocals and a beautifully romantic catalogue of songs that any of us awaiting a fairytale romance can appreciate.
Her previous songs ‘Stupid Cupid,’ and ‘See You Later (Ten Years)’ have shot her into TikTok fame and she has amassed over 1.8 million followers on TikTok and 388,000 followers on Instagram. Yet, she was famous beforehand, with her being part of the all-girl group ‘L2M,’ before beginning her solo career. She was also the opening act for Max & Harvey’s UK/Ireland tour in 2018 and later joined them on tour in 2019 as well.
Jenna’s track record of achievements makes her one to watch out for in the music industry and, with her newest song ‘Roses,’ being released today, it will be interesting to see if she slips another TikTok-wide hit under her belt.
Her new song is all about self-growth and the desire to thrive, even when others put you down. With lyrics such as “Don’t go killin’ all my roses ‘cause I’ve only started growing,” and “No, you won’t ever cut me down,” Jenna sings about wanting to rise above it all and stay positive. The lyrics are unlike her previous songs as they are less loved-based and more focused on her independence and self-determination. Despite this, she still has the same beautiful vocals that keep us hooked and wanting more.
The promotional material for the song is also rather eye-catching as Jenna’s Instagram features several filtered videos and images of her strolling down the beach, strumming her guitar and posing in a rose garden. On the 5th of August, she posted a video of her dancing to the song’s lyrics in a rose garden with the caption “Y’ALL it’s ‘Roses’ release week.” Her adorable video not only teased the song, but the song’s nostalgic home-video style music video which was released at the same time.
If you’d like to give it a listen, you can do so on Apple Music or Spotify. You can also watch the music video on Jenna’s YouTube channel as well. It’s a very cosy watch.
