Does anybody remember the iconic “Vogue challenge,” trend of 2020 which saw thousands of TikTok users placing the Vogue logo on top of their photos? It was an interesting time that allowed us to reimagine ourselves as magazine cover stars and escape the uncertainty of the pandemic which was sweeping the globe. Everyone seemed to jump on the trend and it quickly transformed from a trend about couture fashion to a trend about any picturesque scene or pet you could imagine. People were showcasing their impressive photography but, more interestingly, they were showcasing their pets.

TikTok was flooded with the cutest puppies, kittens, and just about anything else. It was the time to upload your pet and make them the “star.”

I was one of the TikTok users who took the opportunity to photograph my two dachshunds for the “Vogue,” challenge. I lined up a series of photos, edited on the logo, and uploaded it to my TikTok account as well as my pet’s Instagram account. It took me less than 20 minutes but the effect was marvelous.

Now, just four years later, the trend has taken on a new life through a digital project undertaken by Vogue themselves. The digital project is appropriately named “Dogue,” and it features sixteen pooches from some of the most famous faces in Hollywood.

And with the likes of Mariah Carey and Anna Wintour offering their dogs for the shoot, it is nothing short of spectacular. Then, you can expect nothing less from the iconic fashion house that is Vogue.

All the dogs are given their own Vogue-inspired covers and a small caption telling readers who they are and who they belong to.

The first cute pooch to make their debut was actress Demi Moore’s chihuahua “Pilaf.” The micro-sized cutie was pictured in front of white, pink and purple backgrounds, inside handbags, with hats perched upon her head and with a neon “Dogue,” logo above her. She was even the subject of Vogue’s new “Dogue,” questionnaire as her famous owner, Demi Moore, divulged all her secrets from who would voice her in a movie and what her worst habit might be.

However, Pilaf’s not the only dog to get her secrets shared as all of the dogs have “Dogue,” questionnaires filled out by their owners. From singer Billie Eilish’s rescue dog “Shark,” to designer Thom Browne’s pampered pup “Hector,” every dog was given their time to shine and share their secrets. And if you check out the link in Vogue Magazine’s biography on Instagram, you’ll see that for yourself. All of the covers and questionnaires are available there!

As Vogue so rightly said “The #Dogue days of summer are here,” and you’re spoilt for choice if you want to learn a little about the celeb lifestyle of celeb dogs. Just go & check it all out on their Instagram page. It’s well worth a look.
